Get Your Creative Entries Ready: 2026 Wabasha County Fair Open Class is Here!

The Wabasha County Fair is turning 158 years young, and this year's Open Class is ready to celebrate with a patriotic twist! With America's 250th birthday just around the corner, the committee has worked hard to add exciting new exhibits, sweepstakes, and opportunities that honor our nation's history while encouraging community participation.

Mark Your Calendars

Entry day is Tuesday, July 14, from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The fair itself runs July 15-18, 2026 at the Wabasha County Fairgrounds. If you're planning to exhibit, mark these release times too:

  • Saturday, July 18: 8:00–9:00 PM

  • Sunday, July 19: 7:30–9:30 AM

Be sure to pick up your entries and premiums during these windows—the fair board is not responsible for items left after release time.

What's New in 2026?

This year is all about America 250! The committee has introduced new America 250-themed sweepstakes and exhibits across multiple categories, from a red, white, and blue flower arrangement to military medal collections and patriotic baked goods. Whether you're an artist, gardener, baker, crafter, or photographer, there's a way to celebrate. Find the full list of Classes on the website here.

We Need You!

The Open Class can't happen without volunteers. The committee is actively recruiting people to help with setup, registration, judging coordination, and so much more. If you have just 3 hours to volunteer, Valerie wants to hear from you! They're especially looking for people interested in becoming superintendents for key areas to help organize the judging process. Drop us an email if you are interested!

And if you're on social media, help spread the word! The fair would love to see Facebook posts about Open Class—it's a great way to encourage your friends and neighbors to enter their creations.
